Join us for a three-day silent meditation retreat at Karuna, guided by Luke Armstrong. This immersive experience offers a quiet, supportive space to deepen your meditation practice and reconnect with inner stillness.
Through a balanced daily rhythm of Tibetan yoga, samatha (calm abiding), and vipassana (close looking) meditation, participants cultivate mindfulness, clarity, and compassion. The program also includes tea ceremonies, readings, Dharma talks, and evening Yoga Nidra to support integration and reflection.
Set on the serene shores of Lake Atitlan, this retreat invites you to step away from distractions, rest in silence, and awaken presence within.
Our retreat is being held in a space of noble silence or ”Mauna.” In this silence we create the space to observe our thoughts, our mind games and impulses. The more we notice how we react, the more control we have over our actions, emotions and communication. When you breathe more deeply you breathe calmness into your life. There will be space to write notes to communicated essential needs or ask questions related to the practices.
Our retreat is a chance to detox from distractions—this includes a break from music, internet, reading, and writing (Journaling is permitted during the self-practice blocks).
All of our sink/shower drains nourish gardens, so we love using natural shampoo/soap etc. Please bring your own towel/toiletries for our hot showers 🛀
Substances (including all forms of tobacco) are not allowed during the retreat. Any violation of this will lead to being dismissed from the retreat. We place no judgement on these things, but see them as distractions to the container we are co-creating together over our three days.
If you have any special needs, food allergies, or require special accommodations, please write to me in a private message.
We will be serving delicious vegan breakfasts and lunches and you will have the option of fruit available in the evening. We ask you to leave outside food/snacks at home as these can become distractions for the mind.

Deep nervous system rest and renewal
Heightened awareness and clarity of thought
Insights into patterns, attachments, and desires
A felt sense of connection to self, others, and nature
The retreat will include guided meditations, gentle yoga, Dharma talks, and reflective practices led by Luke. The silence will be held with care, creating a container for profound inner work and transformation.
As night falls over the lake and dawn rises over the volcanoes, you’ll discover how silence itself can become a teacher—revealing peace, presence, and a deeper way of being.
Come and experience the alchemy of silence, the wisdom of the Buddhist path, and the magic of Lake Atitlán under the guidance of Luke Armstrong.
